Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

- John 14: 6

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

The Way.

Before they were called Christians, the earliest followers of Jesus were referred to as The Way. It was more than a label or a belief system. It was a journey; a way of life. We walk in those ancient paths. We are immigrants in a foreign country making our way back to the home of our Father. Jesus is our road and our true north. He does not just point us in the right direction, He is our mode of transportation.

The Truth.

Jesus is the truth about everything. He created the universe, governs it, and holds it together. He created humans to know and love him, and gave us a map for following him. The map has an answer for every question about how we should live our lives. We are serious about the map. We study it, talk about it, and memorize it. We never try to change or redraw it. We keep our lives in sync with the map because we want to stay in sync with Jesus.

The Life.

Knowing Jesus is the only way to really be alive. He wanted his followers to know that he had a better life for them, not just here on earth, but forever with him in a heavenly realm. We long to experience the Life Jesus has for us. His Life keeps us alert to danger on the path, keeps us focused so we can follow the map, and lets us enjoy ourselves along the way. He makes our lives better now and we look forward to forever in his presence.

The Light.

The closer we are to Jesus, the more we will reflect the light he gives off. We stay close to Him so we can reflect his light into our homes, schools, jobs, and communities. As his light-bearers, we try to make a difference everywhere we go.
